Research · For learners

You know things about how you learn that nobody else can tell us.

Which lessons make sense and which ones don’t. What helps you concentrate. What people get wrong about you. That’s the whole thing.

What is Sol?

Sol is an AI chatbot — a bit like texting, except Sol is a computer program. It chats with you on WhatsApp or Telegram and asks about yourself. There are no right or wrong answers. Sol just wants to hear it from you, in your own words.

What will it ask me?

Things like:

  • What subjects or activities do you enjoy?
  • How do you like to learn best?
  • What do you find tricky sometimes?
  • What helps you feel comfortable and focused?
  • What are you proud of?

You don’t have to answer anything you don’t want to. You’re always in control.

Is it private?

Yes. Your conversation is between you and the research team. Your caregiver won’t see what you said, and you won’t see what they said. Only the researchers can see both.

What happens after?

Sol puts together a draft profile of you, based on what you shared. You can log in and read it. If Sol got something wrong, you can change it or take it out. Nothing gets shared until you say it’s okay.

Do I have to take part?

No. It’s completely your choice. If you want to stop at any point, send QUITto Sol and that’s it — no questions asked.

Worth knowing

Sol is not a real person

It’s an AI — a computer program. Not a therapist, a doctor or a counsellor. If you’re going through something difficult, please talk to an adult you trust.

Your data is kept safe

Everything you share is stored securely and used only for this research study.

You’re in control

You can stop at any time, skip any question, and review or remove anything from your profile.
